Balsamroot
The Balsamroot wildflower blooms in the high sierra from late May-July. I've never seen them below 7500'. The plant is fairly large, and the blooms average about 6" across. They don't have big clusters, so fields of them are usually sparse. They have a faint perfume, and are susceptible to the heat of the sun. (In other words, they don't last long!)
